Creating a Gallery
Overview
Galleries are the primary way you share work with clients. A gallery gives your client a dedicated place to review images, leave feedback, download files, and, if you enable it, purchase licenses through your store.
To create a gallery, open Create New → Gallery from the dashboard header or go to Galleries and click New Gallery. StudioLedger opens a guided setup wizard so you can work through the gallery step by step before publishing.
Basic Information
Start with a clear gallery name. This name helps you identify the job internally and is also used to generate the gallery URL.
- Gallery Name — Your internal name for the gallery.
- URL — Generated automatically from the gallery name and must be unique in your workspace.
Organization and Associations
You can organize galleries into folders and link them to the rest of your CRM.
- Folder — Keeps galleries organized in the gallery list.
- Project — Connects the gallery to a project record for unified tracking.
- Contacts — You can now link a gallery to multiple contacts, and the gallery will appear in each linked contact's portal.
Using the Gallery Creation Wizard
The gallery wizard focuses on the parts that matter most before you publish: basics, associations, feedback permissions, downloads, and access settings.
- Enter the gallery name and choose the right folder or project context.
- Link the gallery to a project, contacts, or both.
- Choose what clients can do in the gallery, including selects, compare, comments, annotations, downloads, and sharing.
- Review password and download PIN settings before creating the gallery.
Gallery Presets
Gallery presets save your appearance and permission settings so you can reuse the same setup later. You can apply a preset during setup, or configure a gallery and then save it as a preset for future use.
Publishing Your Gallery
Before publishing, make sure the gallery has at least one image and that your permissions match the client experience you want to provide.
- Published galleries are available at their public URL.
- Unpublished galleries stay hidden until you are ready to share them.
Next Steps
- Learn about Gallery Settings to customize layout and appearance.
- Configure Permissions & Downloads to control what clients can do.
- Upload images and organize them into sets or delivery sets.
