Privacy

Overview

Privacy settings determine how discoverable your workspace is and who can contact you. You have full control over visibility, messaging, and who can interact with you.

🔒 Public vs. Private

Your workspace and galleries can have different privacy settings. A workspace can be private while individual galleries are public (shared via direct link).

Workspace Discoverability

Control whether your workspace can be found in StudioLedger's directory and search.

Private Workspace

Your workspace doesn't appear in directory or search results. Only people with direct links can find your galleries and public pages.

Best for: Photographers with existing client relationships who don't need discovery.

Public Workspace

Your workspace appears in StudioLedger directory, search results, and your profile is discoverable.

Best for: Photographers seeking new clients and building an online presence.

Your Public Profile

When set to public, your profile shows:

  • Your workspace name and logo
  • Bio/description
  • Contact information
  • Links to your public galleries
  • Social media links

⚠️ Changing Discoverability

Changing from public to private removes you from all search and directory listings, but direct gallery links remain accessible.

Direct Message Policy

Control who can send you direct messages within StudioLedger.

Everyone

Any StudioLedger user can send you direct messages. Good for networking and client discovery.

Workspace Members Only

Only your team members can send direct messages. Useful for focused team communication.

Disabled

Nobody can send you direct messages. You'll only receive messages through gallery widget and forms.

💡 Gallery Widget Messages

Direct message policy doesn't affect the messaging widget embedded in galleries. Those are always enabled (unless you disable the widget entirely).

Blocked Users

Block specific users from contacting you or viewing certain content.

Blocking a User

You can block users from:

  • Sending you direct messages
  • Viewing your public profile
  • Interacting with your galleries

To block a user, visit their profile or any message from them and select "Block User".

Managing Your Block List

  1. Go to Settings → Privacy
  2. Find Blocked Users section
  3. View your complete list of blocked users
  4. Click Unblock next to anyone to remove them

What Blocking Does

  • They can no longer message you directly
  • They can't view your public profile
  • Their existing messages are archived (you can still read them)
  • They don't receive notification that they're blocked

What Blocking Doesn't Do

  • They can still access galleries you've shared directly with them
  • They can still submit forms on your galleries
  • They can still access shared documents (invoices, estimates)
  • It doesn't affect their workspace—only your interactions

Next Steps

  • Set your workspace discoverability preference
  • Choose your direct message policy
  • Review and manage your blocked users list
