Sets & Hidden Sets
Overview
StudioLedger uses two kinds of sets inside galleries: visible sets and hidden sets. Both help you organize images, but they serve different client experiences.
- Visible sets appear inside the gallery as part of the client's browsing experience.
- Hidden sets stay out of the public set navigation and are used for private delivery packages or direct links.
Visible Sets
Visible sets are for gallery organization. Use them when you want clients to move through categories like selects, proofs, campaign concepts, or product groupings while staying in the public gallery.
Best for
- Proofing galleries
- Category-based browsing
- Public-facing navigation tabs
Hidden Sets
Hidden sets are private packages. They do not show up as public navigation tabs, which makes them a better fit for direct delivery, client-specific bundles, and private download links.
Best for
- Final delivery bundles
- Alternate exports for a specific client
- Invoice-linked or direct-link delivery
How to Think About the Difference
- Visible set = part of the gallery browsing experience.
- Hidden set = a private package that stays outside the public set navigation.
Creating and Managing Sets
You can create sets from the gallery workspace without leaving your current context. Use visible sets when you want to organize the gallery itself, and use hidden sets when the goal is controlled delivery rather than browsing.
