Messaging Widget

Overview

The StudioLedger Messaging Widget is a chat interface you can embed on galleries, your website, or any public page. Clients can message you directly, and messages appear in your StudioLedger inbox for quick response.

šŸ’” Perfect For

  • Answering client questions about a gallery
  • Discussing project details before creating an estimate
  • Handling booking inquiries in real-time
  • Providing instant customer support

Widget Settings

Customize the appearance and behavior of the messaging widget:

Enable/Disable Widget

Toggle the messaging widget on or off globally. When disabled, the widget doesn't appear on any embedded pages.

Widget Position

Choose where the widget appears on the page:

  • Bottom Right — Standard position, floats above content
  • Bottom Left — Alternative left-side position

Accent Color

Choose the widget accent color to match your brand.

Require Name and Email

When enabled, visitors must enter their first name, last name, and email before starting a conversation. This helps you identify who you're chatting with and follow up later.

Embedding the Widget

Add the messaging widget to any webpage with a simple code snippet.

Getting the Embed Code

  1. Go to Settings → Messaging Widget
  2. Look for the Embed Code section at the bottom
  3. Click Copy to copy the code snippet
  4. Paste it into your website or any webpage

Embed Code Example

{``}

The widget position and other settings are configured in your workspace settings, not in the embed code.

Where to Paste the Code

Paste the snippet in the <body> tag of your HTML, or:

  • WordPress: Use a script injection plugin or custom code block
  • Wix/Squarespace: Paste into Custom Code section
  • Webflow: Add to site-wide custom code
  • Shopify: Add to theme code in Liquid template

āš ļø HTTPS Required

The widget only works on HTTPS pages. Your website must have an SSL certificate. If you see the widget not loading, check that the page uses https:// .

Who Can Respond

Control which team members can see and respond to widget messages.

Responders Setting

In the widget settings, use the Responders dropdown to choose who can respond to incoming messages:

  • All team members — Everyone in the workspace can see and respond to messages
  • Admins only — Only workspace admins can see and respond to messages

šŸ’” Best Practice

If multiple team members are responding to messages, designate a primary responder to avoid duplicate replies.

Next Steps

  • Enable the messaging widget in Settings
  • Customize the accent color and position
  • Copy the embed code and add it to your website
  • Set which team members can respond to messages
